Celebrating Young Carers Week

Raising awareness of the role of Young Carers

We are celebrating Young Carers Week at Salford City Academy.

The academy works hard to embed young carer awareness across the whole school staff.

This week we have invited our wonderful Caterlink staff to help us celebrate both Young Carers Week and their role as part of support staff.

All staff are made aware and play a part in keeping our students safe and cared for in school.  Our canteen ladies are no exception.  They are in a key position as they communicate with students daily and it is important that Salford City Academy keeps all staff involved in key issues affecting young adults and welcome feedback from any staff with concerns.

As a community, Salford City Academy identifies and supports this pupil group and provide young carers with the support they need in education. We run a support group every 6 weeks - please see Mrs Daniels, KS3 Inclusion Manager, for more information.
