Year 10 practice camp craft and navigation skills

The Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award Year 10 cohort experienced wild camping for the first time on the 10th June when they camped out in Rivington followed by a day of walking to hone their navigation skills.

This practice expedition has prepared the group for their final expedition in Bakewell.

Mr Davies, Duke of Edinburgh Co-ordinator said:

“The group did really well, showing a good level of camp craft and organisation in some pretty wet weather.

“They navigated themselves around the route well and remained in high spirits despite some torrential rain in the final few hours of the trip. All of this will prepare them well for their final expedition.”
