Let's Play Volleyball

Salford City Academy plays in the Volleyball England annual Let’s Play Volleyball Grass Tournament.

On Friday 19th June, Volleyball England held its annual Let’s Play Volleyball Grass Tournament. Over 65 teams from as far as Stafford travelled to Leigh Sports Village to compete.

Salford City Academy entered two teams:

Under 13 girls - Alisha Roebuck (Captain), Becky Doyle, Georgia Bravender, Sammy Mechan and Chloe Ginty.

Under 13 boys - Josh Mort, Leyton Lovell, Blake Smith and Leo Robinson,

The boys came second in pool stages but lost in quarter finals to Urmston Grammar, however our girls came away with bronze medals after reaching the semi-finals against Fairfield.

Lyndsey Nolan, School Games Organiser said:

“The girls prided themselves on the quality of their play. Other teams would send the ball back on the first touch but their commitment to demonstrating 3 touch volleyball was a pleasure to watch.  All their practices come together in the game situations.”

“A special mention goes to Chloe Ginty as it was her first set of competitive matches and she played superbly.”
