Academy students enter national writing competition

Last week the English department launched a literacy challenge to give all our KS3 students the opportunity to enter a Young Writer's competition.

Entitled ‘Welcome to Wonderland’, the competition requires students to write a 100 word winter-themed mini saga, the best of which will be submitted towards the national competition.

During English lessons all week, Years 7, 8 and 9 students learnt speculative fiction, types of narrator and creating a fictional world/society in order to write their mini saga.

Winning students from across the UK will have their work published and the top 5 entries in the country will also win a Kindle Fire HD.

Good luck to all our students!
