Year 5 Enjoy Academy Life

Taster Day for local primaries

By Precious Oladele, Year 10 (Work Experience)

Salford City Academy hosted Year 5 students from local primary schools on 23rd and 24th July.

The special taster day for Lewis Street, Godfrey Ermen CE, Barton Moss, Beech Street, Westwood Park and St. Andrews CE primary schools, was organised so that Year 5 students could experience life at Salford City Academy.

The students enjoyed subject sessions such as art, science, French and music etc. They also took part in a sports competition, with schools competing against the other in a game of rounders.

Rachel Lyons, Transition Co-ordinator, said:

“It was a really good experience for the pupils to become familiar with academy life.

“They all had a fantastic time and loved experiencing the subjects and meeting new teachers and students. It was indeed a brilliant day for all the students involved.”
