Key Stage 4
At Salford City Academy students begin Key Stage 4 in Year 10. The KS4 curriculum is comprised of a number of core curriculum subjects which all students are enrolled. It is also the first time since starting the academy that our students have the opportunity to take control of a significant part of their curriculum through the options that they select in Year 9, leading to a large degree of personalisation to their curriculum during KS4.

Key Stage 4 Tutor Time Programme
In Year 10, students continue with the same tutor time programme as in Key Stage 3. This encompasses a weekly values-drive assembly, a weekly age-appropriate PSHE session, Drop Everything and Read (DEAR), and a fortnightly character develop curriculum session.
In Year 11, students continue to receive a weekly assembly and a weekly PSHE session. On top of this, students are allocated tutor groups based on their performance data in English and Maths which enables targeted bespoke intervention sessions to take place each morning.
It is our ambition that all students leave Salford City Academy with a broad range of excellent qualifications which empowers students to progress onto the next stage of their educational journeys and ultimately live happy and fulfilling lives. In order to support with this, students in Key Stage Four will receive a comprehensive careers education programme, including visits to colleges and universities, a work experience placement and personalised careers guidance interviews with our Careers Advisor.
