The Pioneer Programme
The Pioneer Programme is our tailored curriculum pathway designed for students with academic potential and a strong interest in STEM
(Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
.
What does the programme involve?
Students accepted into the Pioneer Programme will follow an accelerated curriculum in Maths, Science, and Technology, alongside the full national curriculum. They will also have numerous opportunities to participate in STEM-related trips, visits, talks, and events.
But that's not all! Students will also attend a weekly after-school enrichment period, focusing on different aspects of STEM each year.
This is mandatory for all students in the programme.
For Year 7 students, this begins with the "STEM on Track" initiative. Read more about this below.
Who is the programme for?
The Pioneer Programme is designed to stretch and challenge students, so it may not be suitable for everyone. Applicants must show
aptitude and potential
in STEM subjects and demonstrate a high level of commitment.
Interested in signing up to the 2025 cohort?
We are holding a Parents Information Evening on 30th April where you be able to ask questions and find out how to apply.

STEM on Track
STEM on Track is a unique programme from Espire Education, where students are empowered to build, learn, and race their own karts in an exciting national schools STEM competition! Throughout the year-long programme, students engage in hands-on learning each week, constructing their karts and acquiring real-world skills. The grand finale, the 'STEM Prix', offers students the chance to showcase their efforts in a thrilling race. Read more by
