Postponed from the Summer we had the pleasure of welcoming parents and carers, students, and governors back to the Academy for the first time in a long while for our annual achievement evening which was held on Thursday 16h September. For all those who were in attendance, it was a fantastic and enjoyable evening, in which there was plenty of applause, singing, smiles and laughter.
We were lucky to welcome Action Jackson ‘The UK Ambassador for Happiness’ to speak and we all sang along to the ‘Dream Big’ song. The aim of the evening was to celebrate the abundance of success of our students over the past 12 months, this included welcoming back some of our former Y11 students to celebrate their success last year. We had awards for over two years attendance, subject awards for Y11 students, sports and performing, values award as well as unique awards for resilience, leadership and the ‘governors’ student of the year award.
Action Jackson said "Working with the students of Salford Academy was a joy. They were polite and focused on the message. I'm still buzzing from the achievement evening. It was inspiring to see students be celebrated in that way. We had a tonne of laughs and inspiration!".
It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate and one that we look forward to doing again at the end of this year, in which we hope to hold the awards at Salford University.
Thank you to all those who attended, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
