Mrs Daniels, KS3 Inclusion Manager, and Year 10 students, Charlie Mechan and Keeley Maggs, attended the annual Anti-Bullying Conference on 14th November.
The ‘Everybody is Somebody – bullying motivated by difference and prejudice’ themed day was organised by the Local Authority and the Salford Children and Young People’s Trust.
Held at the Buile Hill Banqueting Suite, the event was an opportunity for everyone to celebrate good practice and learn more about how to effectively reduce bullying across Salford.
This year children and young people were invited to encourage their active involvement in developing Local Authority anti-bullying strategies.
Several schools performed dramatic pieces highlighting key messages about dealing with bullying of certain groups of children and young adults.
Our own students, Charlie and Keeley, were involved in focus groups to gather student opinion. They were asked to write a message to others who may be suffering from bullying.
Charlie said: “It was a good day; we heard lots about anti-bullying and took part in activities such as working with scripts and taking part in a campaign for Twitter where we were all asked to write an anti-bullying message on a whiteboard.”
