Salford City Academy’s Year 13 Beauty Therapy students visited snow-covered Buxton on Thursday 22nd January.
The group of students spent a day at Buxton University and spa to get a taste of their Spa Management degree.
Student Brooke-Anna Ward said: “The day really gave us a feel of what life at university would be like.”
As well as enjoying the spa experience and using the sauna, spa and steam room, the students also visited the halls of residence.
Lisa Anderson, Beauty Therapy teacher, said:
“It was a great chance for the girls to see the university and it will encourage them to aim higher when furthering their education after Year 13.”
“It’s been wonderful to see three of students who started Beauty in Year 10, follow the subject into Sixth Form and then on to the degree at Buxton.
Former student Zara Morris is in her final year at Buxton, Jade Tomlinson is now working at the 5* Radisson Blue hotel spa in Manchester and Yvonne Zhen is at the 4* Macdonald hotel spa, also in Manchester.
Ms Anderson added:
“It’s so rewarding to follow our students’ success.”
