Academy achieves Stage One Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance recognition
Salford City Academy has successfully achieved Stage One of Inspiring IAG (Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance Quality Award).
The Stage One award involved an in-depth self-assessment process to demonstrate the academy’s commitment to providing quality careers guidance and support to students.
Salford City Academy has evidenced the following, and much more, to help us achieve the award:
- Management and leadership
- Design and delivery of CEIAG
- Working with partners
- Information and communications
- Outcomes for young people
- Involving parents and carers
The process helps organisations to identify areas for development as well as recognising good practice. Stage Two will now involve creating an evidence base and action plan to demonstrate Salford City Academy’s continuing CEIAG work.
Vilma O’Shea, Chair of the IAG Management Group, said:
“Thanks to the hard work of your staff, and in particular Amy Barlow, your organisation is on the way to progressing to the next stage of the award. On behalf of the Inspiring IAG Management Group may I offer my congratulations on achieving the first stage of Inspiring IAG and look forward to working with Salford City Academy in the future.”
Amy Barlow, Head of Careers at the academy, said:
“It’s a great first step to secure the bronze award and to be recognised for all the careers work we do at the academy. I’m looking forward to starting on the silver award!”
