In October, the Salford City Academy choir joined over 400 United Learning students in "A Colourful Musical Celebration‟ at Sheffield Cathedral.
Students travelled from Stockport, Barnsley, Hull, Sheffield, Lincoln, Sunderland and Blackpool.
The students all demonstrated their creativity with choral versions of pop hits, „Glee Club‟ interpretations of classic songs and a Samba Brazilian Dance show.
Salford City Academy pupils also collaborated with Stockport Academy to perform a high energy rendition of "You Can‟t Stop the Beat‟ from the musical Hairspray.
There was also a special performance of a new ten movement Oratorio of the King James Bible, composed last year for students by renowned composer Howard Goodall CBE, entitled Every Purpose Under the Heaven.
Thanks to the choir for their commitment and exemplary behaviour: Alethea Biesty, Megan Burgess, Chloe Robinson, Alliyah Franklin, Nicole Ryan, Amelia Hughes, Lauren Minor, Aimee Monks, Charlie Mechan and Julia Russell.
Thanks must also go to Learning Mentor Mrs Hutton, Head Girl Lucy Lengden and Deputy Head Boy, Louis Edmonds for their help throughout the day.
Miss Landon, Music Teacher said: ‟What an experience! To perform Howard Goodall's Oratorio and to be conducted by the man himself was amazing. Our pupils put on a fantastic show. It was a very proud moment!"
