Schools compete in Salford Athletics
Local secondary schools met on Thursday 16th June at Cleaveley’s track to compete in the annual Salford Schools Athletics competition.
It was a busy day of events including 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, relay, 800m, 1500m, high, long and triple jump, shot and discus.
The overall winner was Walkden High School.
Lyndsey Nolan, School Games Co-ordinator, said:
“I want to say a big thanks to all the schools who pulled together to co-ordinate this wonderful sporting event for all the students involved. Well done to Walkden!”
Special congratulations go to Salford City Academy’s Alana Birch, Year 9, who won the gold medal for 200m!
