Salford City Academy has kicked off its Year 10 work experience programme with an assembly today.
Students heard about the benefits of undertaking a work experience placement in July 2015. Their chosen placement should give them an insight into a career of interest, provide an opportunity to shadow a professional in a work environment and will enable them to seek additional advice.
The assembly also covered what would be expected of our students in return, including presentation, punctuality and politeness.
The next step for students is to research a placement. Students have been asked to begin their research and make telephone contact with their placement provider by February half term, with a suggested visit in the holidays.. Help and contacts will be supplied, if required, by the Academy.
Head of Careers, Amy Barlow, will be based in the library to provide additional help every Thursday lunch.
