On the 24th October the Key 103 Media Bus visited Salford City Academy. The aim of the day was to learn about Apprenticeship programmes and then to design and make a radio advert to promote the programme.
Manchester City Council representatives joined Key 103 to advise our students about apprenticeship programmes available on the National Apprenticeship Scheme (NAS) including over 250 careers such as Law, Finance, Beauty, Business and Web Design. Our students also learnt about the advantages of apprenticeships and how anyone interested can apply through the NAS website. Our Year 10 students had the opportunity to experience how to create a professional media advert for the radio. All of the adverts they produced will be put forward in a competition to win a day at the Key 103 studios.
Courtney West said, “We learned new things and how to express ourselves with confidence”.
Karl Waddicor added, “We all know what apprenticeships are now and the Key 103 bus is ‘cool’!”
The day was excellent and the students learned a lot of useful information to help them with their choices for next year. Now that they are registered on the website they will receive lots of opportunities and information about apprenticeships in the area they have expressed an interest in.
