Year 10 students invite staff to special presentation
Miss Bowden’s Year 10 literacy class invited staff to their lesson on Friday 31st March.
The group have been creating their own short stories and had prepared a literacy presentation and also a quiz for staff based on their work.
The aim of these presentations is for students to develop their oracy skills and they asked for staff to act as their audience, rather than their peers.
Amy Bowden, English Teacher, said:
“These students are extremely proud of their work and presentation skills, which they were keen to showcase to staff. It’s been a pleasure to see how they responded to the challenge they set for themselves.”
As well as developing oracy skills, the students used their own knowledge to ‘test’ staff with a literacy quiz.
Jamie Barker, Head of English, said:
“We encourage staff to go along to these sessions as they really allow students to show their growing confidence in front of a fairly large audience of staff. Earlier in the year, students had prepared a presentation on ‘Manchester’, which was fantastic.”
