Our Year 12 students have been inspired by a visit from the National Citizen Service (NCS).
The Salford and Trafford National Citizen Service visited the Salford City Academy Sixth Form to encourage students to sign up for a qualification.
The NCS qualification is an opportunity to take on new challenges, learn new skills and make a difference.
Students take part in:
-
Phase 1: A three night personal development residential where you take part in activities such as rock climbing, canoeing, rafting and more
-
Phase 2: Three days of business enterprise activities to continue to build on teamwork skills e.g. meeting local businesses, charities and exciting workshops
-
Phase 3: Two weekends of volunteering in your local community e.g. supporting a local project or charity
Amy Barlow, Salford City Academy’s KS5 Inclusion Manager said:
“Quite a few of our students are interested in joining up and have asked for more information from the NCS.”
“Lucy Lengden, in Year 12, is already an ambassador and is heavily involved in the NCS, volunteering locally. If she continues to support the organisation and builds up her volunteer hours, Lucy may have the opportunity of paid employment, which is fantastic.”
