Making a Difference to College Life

Salford City Academy’s Sixth Form Student Management Board has been busy meeting and discussing the issues that matter to them.

Working alongside their Year Leader, Amy Barlow, the group of students are lending their voice to make changes to help improve their Sixth Form experience.

The members of the board are Lucy Lengden, Louis Edmonds, Jake O’Mahoney, Molly Haq and Faye White.

Lucy said: “We want to make a difference to everyone’s college life.”

In the past the opinions and actions of the Student Management Board have led key initiatives such as the redesign of our common room, the structure of the Sixth Form day, the tutor and Enrichment programme, the format of our Student Charter and the Sixth Form dress code.

This year students are already discussing fundraising, a student radio station, Sixth Form student identity badges, rewards trips and common room refreshments.

Salford City Academy is pleased for students’ ideas to drive Sixth Form developments.
