Medal Success at Salford Schools Athletics

On 12th June 2014, pupils represented Salford City Academy at the Salford Schools Athletics Tournament.
The competition was held at the athletics track at Fit City Cleveleys, where everyone enjoyed fantastic weather. Students took part in numerous track and field events, with eight of our students setting new academy records. They were:
Yr 7 Girls 200m Alana Birch 31.82s
Yr 7 Girls 1500m Sydney Hulme 7:02.00
Yr 7 Girls High Jump Alisha Roebuck 1.21m
Yr 8 Boys Discus Louis Farrington 22.03m
Yr 9 Girls Javelin Lakeisha Wizzart 11.00m
Yr 10 Girls High Jump Jessica Royle 1.25m
Yr 10 Girls Triple Jump Melissa Raynor 7.33m
Yr 10 Girls Javelin Hollie Warburton 17.50m
The teams from the academy came home with four gold medals (Georgia Gage, Jessica Royle, Louis Farrington and Casey Macauley), three silver medals (Sophie Cunningham, Alisha Roebuck and Hollie Warburton) and five bronze medals (Nicole Chapman, Megan Smart, Alana Birch (2) and Jessica Royle).
