Year 7 student continues run of success
We were thrilled to hear that Year 7 student, Keira Timmis, excelled in the recent National Karate Championships in Urmston on Sunday 6th November.
Focusing on Kenyukai Karate, Keira took part in three competitions winning:
- First in Under 16s Kata
- Second in individual Under 16s Karate
- Second in team Under 16s Karate
Keira said:
“The competitions lasted all day and I fought against 12 people. My last fight was so tough, the boy was a brown belt which is six belts higher than me! It was a really good day and I made my mum and dad so proud; I was so happy to win.”
Keira is currently an orange belt and is working for the next colour – green – at her club in Broughton, where she trains twice a week. Good luck Keira!
