One of our Year 7 students has been celebrating sporting success – even after injuring himself in the process.
Daniel Bartoletta claimed a hard-fought Silver medal in the Karate English Championship in Leicester, despite spraining his ankle during the competition!
This isn’t Daniel’s first taste of silverware - having clinched the Gold in the same contest previously – and he is now setting his sights on competing to represent the North West at the regional squad trials at the start of February.
Daniel told us: “I’m really pleased with my Silver, especially because of my injury! I’m really hoping to do well at the regional trials because it’s something I really enjoy and hope to keep getting better and better in the future!”
Daniel isn’t the only one of our students to have experienced success in martial arts – you can read all about Year 8 Keira Timmis’ exploits here.
