We are delighted to share an e-mail from Paul following the Prison and Police Engagement Day on 12th September 2014:
“It’s not often I contact a school, but I feel the need after being invited in for the day to work alongside some of your pupils.
From the outset, when the police and I arrived, nothing was too much trouble. The facilities team were first class and all the staff made us feel so welcome. It was more like being part of your school rather than just visitors and this was a nice surprise after being on the road all week.
As I said in my opening speech people always seem to judge an area by its label, however old that label might be, and this is not always the case as was proven by your establishment.
The pupils and staff weere a credit and showed the team 100% respect, which was a word used lots throughout the day. Your team are a credit with what they are doing with today's young.
At the end of the day my team commented on the way we had been treated saying that nothing seemed too much trouble to make sure that we were looked after.
Please thank all at Salford City Academy because people are so quick to criticise but not so quick to say thank you for a great day!
Please thank the catering team for their first class service. It was so nice to have lunch with the pupils and to be thanked by so many of the young people for coming into their school.
This allowed us to show uniforms are just overalls at the end of the day and that the Police are there for them at any time and not just when there is a problem.
I have a strict three year ruling with regards to visiting schools but please forget this where your school is concerned.”
