Students from local primary schools had the chance to get a taste of life in secondary school, thanks to a series of visits to SCA.
Year 5s from Lewis Street and Christ Church Primaries spent time with our Art and Science departments to sample lessons and get a feel for the next step on their educational journey.
In Science, students learned about using Bunsen burners, researching the best ways to stay safe and carrying out simple experiments before earning their ‘Bunsen burner licence’.
Meanwhile, in Art, they designed their own superheroes by drawing their character and then making puppets based on their ideas.
Head of Year 7 Mrs Jones said: “We’ve loved having Year 5s from our feeder schools in this term and it’s been great to meet them and welcome them to SCA. They’ve really enjoyed their time here and we hope to see them again very soon!”
