Students support local business event
Salford City Academy’s long running business partner PZ Cussons invited students to an internal event on Thursday 28th January organised to recruit new employees to their education schemes.
Year 7 students Charlie Ridgway and Leah Warburton demonstrated activities which illustrated the academy’s transition programme supported by PZ Cussons. The academy’s Year 6 induction scheme includes a day co-ordinated by PZ Cussons to help the pupils as they move from primary to secondary.
Year 10 Somali Jama and Year 8 Chloe McGough did a presentation to PZ Cussons staff to showcase the benefits of the Mosaic Mentoring scheme, which sees volunteers from PZ Cussons work alongside students to help raise aspirations in academy life and beyond.
Pagan Jones, Transition Mentor, said:
“It was a really busy afternoon for the students and they were fantastic ambassadors for the academy; undertaking demonstrations and presentations, as well as networking with PZ Cusson employers, with confidence.”
