Quadruple Distinction Star Success for Rebecca Evans and Amanda Lamb

Amongst the academy's Sixth Form success stories are Rebecca Evans and Amanda Lamb, who have each netted an incredible quadruple distinction* in their BTEC Business and BTEC National Sports Extended Diploma.

Amongst the academy's Sixth Form success stories are Rebecca Evans and Amanda Lamb, who have each netted an incredible quadruple distinction* in their BTEC Business and BTEC National Sports Extended Diploma.

Thanks to her success, Rebecca is now headed for Edge Hill University to study Physical Education and School Sport, whilst Amanda is looking to pursue her dream of working in physiotherapy and treating sports injuries, having landed a place studying Sports Rehabilitation at the University of Salford.

Rebecca said:

"I feel great about my results ands my family are very proud, as I'll be the first one to go to university.  All my teachers at the academy have also been great, providing me with strong support and a range of learning opportunities, such as work experience at a local primary school and being an academy Sport Leader, which have helped me to improve my confidence through leading and instructing PE and sport."

For Amanda, a keen basketball player, first hand experience of sporting injuries helped her to decide on her career path.  She said:

"Experiencing sports injuries first hand has given me an interest in physiotherapy and rehabilitation, whilst basketball has also helped to improve my confidence as each time I moved teams, I met and played with new team members.  I'll continue to play basketball whilst I study and I might even join the university side."
