~Free books for the academy and it's students~
Book Buzz
Each September, we are delighted to give our new intake of Year 7 pupils a free book of their choice from Book Buzz, one of Salford City Academy’s library partners. Book Buzz provide bookmarks with a selection of 15 books displayed and students choose one book to keep, however, after reading their book they are allowed to swap it for one of the other titles that the library receives from Book Buzz.
Students made their choice in September and the books arrived in October. The selection works well within the academy’s Accelerated Reader scheme and students can test on these books.
Debbie Wilkinson, LRC Manager, said:
“We love to receive free books for our school library and it’s even better to receive them for our students. When the books arrive in October, I love to deliver them to hubs!”
Book Trust
Book Trust is another library partner and every October we receive a free box of books. This year, the selection we received included books for reluctant readers, the Accelerated Reader (AR) scheme, and mixed non-AR books (but are a very good read!)
