Salford Primary Schools Come Together for Christmas Carol Concert
Salford City Academy brought local primary schools together for its annual Christmas Carol Concert on Wednesday 3rd December.
Year 6 pupils from Godfrey Ermen Memorial, Christ Church, Barton Moss, Lewis Street, St. Andrews, Beech Street and Clarendon Road Primary Schools performed and gave readings during the service at St Andrew’s Church in Eccles.
Rachel Lyons, Transition Co-ordinator at Salford City Academy, said:
“It was such a fantastic event and a wonderful way of bringing our primaries together to celebrate Christmas, as well as all of the work we do together through our transition programme. All the children have worked so hard on their performances, with some including dance routines. They were a credit to themselves and their schools.”
Year 10 student Charlie Mechan from Salford City Academy also sang, with students and staff from all schools performing a carol together to close the service.
All those attending, including parents, enjoyed Christmas refreshments of mince pies and drinks following the concert.
Rachel added:
“A special thanks go to Reverend Anne-Louise Critchlow for the use of St. Andrew’s Church and her contribution to the service, as well as to church volunteers and staff from all the schools involved.”
