Salford City Academy has been officially recognised for providing students with sporting opportunities after receiving the School Games Silver Mark for 2017-18.
The national honour is part of a government-led scheme that rewards schools for their commitment to the development of competition in sport, with SCA being commended highly for the wide range of events we have participated in and achievements we have made throughout the academic year.
Over 250 students have taken part in everything from Dodgeball and Softball to Cricket, Frisbee, Football, Volleyball and Badminton. Meanwhile, our team of Sports Leaders have given up their own time to support events involving both SCA and other schools across Greater Manchester.
Among our sporting successes were tournament victories in the Level 2 Girls Dodgeball, Level 2 U15 Girls Volleyball and Level 2 U15 and U13 Boys Handball.
Salford City Academy’s School Games Organiser Mrs Robinson said: “We are so pleased and proud to have been recognised with the School Games Silver Mark. Our Sports Leaders have been fantastic in representing SCA and have demonstrated dedication and skill in fulfilling this role throughout the year
“We are passionate about providing sporting opportunity to all our students at SCA and this will only get better as we strive to achieve the Gold Mark going forward.”
