On 23rd April, our Year 8 team won the Level 2 Boys School Games Handball competition.
The team will now go through to the summer School Games representing Salford!
The boys played brilliantly, winning 10-5 over All Hallows RC.
The Year 8 team was: Amir Rahman, Omar Ali, Abdul Abdulla, Dillon Greensmith, Blake Smith, Morgan Burtwistle-Smith, Anees Hamad, Mo Abu Ramouz and Tom Morris.
Three Year 10 students, Mo Abu Dakka, Yvan Gisingizo and Rayan Sharif, volunteered to act as coaches for the team and did an outstanding job. They ran drills with the boys beforehand and gave ‘team talks’ throughout the game, leading to the Year 8s working really well as a team and showing good sportsmanship.
Suzanne Vickers, School Games Co-ordinator said:
“It was fantastic to see such good teamwork from the Year 8s with a well-deserved win, and some truly excellent coaching and leadership skills from the Year 10s.”
