Sixth Form Focus on Careers

Enrichment has been focused on careers at the Sixth Form recently.
Last week, students logged on for a session on an online careers guidance and information program called Kudos.
As well as analysing students’ likes and dislikes in terms of work, for example, working outside or with children, the program also tailors results to students’ courses.
Students are then supplied with personalised careers suited to them with full job descriptions, necessary skills, pay and holiday details.
This week students enjoyed a CV writing session, starting with a template and using hints and tips to update and perfect their CV.
This session was a great opportunity for all our students seeking part time work at the moment, as well as those that are looking at apprenticeships following Sixth Form.
Next on the enrichment programme is preparing applications for work experience.
At the end of this series of enrichment sessions, students will have compiled a ‘Careers Pack’, which will include their KUDOS results, a CV and covering letter, and a written application for a work experience placement.
