Salford City Academy hosted a Career Fair on Tuesday 27th January attended by local colleges and universities, training providers, local businesses and public services.
The Careers Fair was a chance for Years 7 to 13 to explore the opportunities available to them following secondary education.
Students visited the stands, asking questions and picking up prospectuses and information.
Some even filled out application forms for apprenticeships; Michael John hairdressing have selected some of our students for interviews.
Amy Barlow, Head of Careers, said:
“The Careers Fair opened our students’ eyes to a taste of what is out there in the world of work and further education. It gave them a fantastic opportunity to raise their aspirations by encouraging them to meet those providers and businesses face-to-face and ask lots of questions!”
College and university stands reported many Year 10 students were very focused on further education; they also noticed that a lot of Year 8 and 9 students ventured straight to the university stands.
Miss Barlow, added:
“Hearing this feedback from our Careers Fair visitors is great; it means that our younger students are already focusing on their career aspirations. I’m really pleased that we’re helping to point our students in the right direction.”
