It's been a busy day in the Sixth Form hair and beauty salon!
There has been a flurry of activity in the Sixth Form hair and beauty salon today with the VTCT Hair L2 students carrying out hairdressing and re-styles towards their coursework! As part of the VTCT course students must complete 8 hair styles on mannequins and clients.
‘Celebrity’ client Mr Evans, PE Teacher, dropped in to have his hair snipped by Year 12 student Chelsea Mcconnell. Chelsea then worked on another re-style of client Katie McGovern!
Also working her magic with her scissors was Ellen Wilkinson, trimming the hair of twin Shannon.
Ellen herself was then completely re-styled by Natasha Bannister – using the hairstyle worn by Frankie from pop band The Saturdays as inspiration.
Tutor Nigel Garrett said:
“Both Natasha and Chelsea are exhibiting strands of Level 3 skills.”
Mr Davies, Head of Sixth Form, said:
"It’s been a great atmosphere in the salon during the last few days. There has been a real buzz about the place as the group come to use their new found skills to full effect. I even let them loose on my hair too and was very pleased with the outcome! Well done to the Hairdressing course and to their tutors for all of their support."
