Sports Day 2016
By Precious Oladele, Year 10 (Work Experience)
On Tuesday 5th July, Salford City Academy students joined in Sports Day and everyone had a fantastic time taking part.
Year 7, 8 and 9 students participated in different sporting activities that included javelin, shot put, long jump, high jump, relay race and other races. Each mentor group competed against others in their year group.
The weather wasn’t exactly warm but the students’ school spirit lightened up the atmosphere.
Students tried their best to win points for their group and make the day memorable. Even teachers took part in an extremely competitive relay race to finish the day!
Below are the winners of each year group:
Year 7- 7PTH (80pts)
Year 8- 8LEM (84pts)
Year 9- 9JC (82pts)
Mr Morrison, Head of Sport and Creative Arts, appraised the day:
“Well done to all the athletes that took part!”
The winning mentor group from each year will be invited to the Sport and Creative Arts award evening to collect their trophy on Wednesday 20th July at Salford City Academy.
Once again, Sports Day at Salford City Academy was a day to remember for all the students that took part and were spectators cheering their friends on.
