Careers Fair at Salford City Academy
Salford City Academy hosted a Career Fair on Thursday 28th January attended by local businesses, public services, colleges, universities and training providers.
The Careers Fair is organised to give all our students from Years 7 to 13 a chance to learn more about the opportunities available to them following secondary education.
Students visited the stands, asked questions and picked up prospectuses and information. They included: GMP Police, BBC, Kelloggs, the Army, Tesco, Dock 10, Trafford College, Salford City College, Future Skills, Just Childcare Apprenticeships and UCLAN.
Amy Barlow, Head of Careers, said:
“The Careers Fair enables our students to meet employers, education and training providers face-to-face and gives them a flavour of the world of work and more. Students fed back that the fair had inspired new ideas and they’d learnt more about opportunities they weren’t aware of.”
The Future Skills stand was particularly busy as they asked students to write their career aspirations on a chalkboard and pose for a snapshot!
Amy added:
“With Year 9 Options and Year 8 Pre-Options Weeks fresh in their minds, these year groups were really focused on asking questions and looking ahead at the opportunities available. It was fantastic to see that they were so enthusiastic.”
