Jacob achieves the highest award in Scouting
Year 9 Jacob O’Donnell recently received the Chief Scout Gold Award and the Ellesmere District Commissioner, Susan Leonard, presented him with the award.
Jacob became a cub and a member of 3rd /1st Eccles Scout Group when he was 8 years old and attends every Friday at the Eccles Scout Hut or sometimes at Middlewood camp site plus joining in many other activities.
Cub leader David Nattan said:
“This is the highest award in Scouting and a great achievement that not many attain. Jacob has always enjoyed his time in cubs and scouts and has been a credit to himself and the uniform. So a big 'well done’ to Jacob!”
To qualify for the award Jacob had to earn all 6 challenge badges - community, global, outdoors, creative, fitness and promise - this involved taking part in a varied programme learning many skills and helping others.
