~ Year 7, 8 and 9 students enter creative writing competition ~
Congratulations to our KS3 students who have been published in the Young Writer’s ‘Welcome to Wonderland’ competition.
Entitled ‘Welcome to Wonderland’, the competition required students to write a 100 word winter-themed mini saga, the best of which was submitted towards the national competition.
From 172 entries to the ‘Welcome to Wonderland’ competition, 35 students have successfully been published. Well done to all!
Salford City Academy regularly enters students’ work in Young Writers competitions; students can be rewarded by seeing their work published alongside other schools’ work nationwide. Each competition book is then sent out to the British Library and further libraries across the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Mrs Wilkinson, Librarian, said:
"By working alongside Young Writers we aim to encourage children to read, write and enjoy poetry and creative writing. Our students really enjoy the opportunity to see their work in print."
A copy of the ‘Welcome to Wonderland’ book is now in the academy library.
