Year 10 count down the days till Work Experience week!
There are two weeks left until students take up work placements at companies including the British Transport Police, kennels and catteries, digital media agencies and much more.
Head of Careers, Amy Barlow, gathered Year 10 on 20th June to prepare them and help them get the most out of their work experience.
“We want our students to know what to expect from their work placement but also what is expected of them. The key thing is to use this experience to support their UCAS applications for colleges or apprenticeships.”
As part of the session, Miss Barlow discussed student appearance on their placement, the importance of time-keeping and how to conduct themselves.
Each student will keep a diary and will detail all jobs undertaken and skills they have developed. Employers will be asked for feedback and tips on what students can work on in the future.
Miss Barlow added:
“We want students to think about their future career and what will make them more desirable for colleges, apprenticeships and employers. We wish them all the best for their work experience week!”
