Celebrating World Book Day at Salford City Academy

Salford City Academy celebrated the magical world of reading on World Book Day 2025.
Yesterday, Salford City Academy dove into the wonderful world of reading for World Book Day 2025! Staff and some students embraced the spirit of the day by dressing up as their favorite book characters, creating a lively and colourful atmosphere throughout the school.
The day started with a special visit from Barton Moss Primary School students. They enjoyed a fun 'Mad Hatters Tea Party' in our library, complete with juice and cakes. Our SCA Student Librarians read magical extracts from Alice in Wonderland to the students while they enjoyed the treats.
Throughout the day, reading was a big part of our lessons, making sure students got to practice their literacy skills. At lunchtime, students gathered in the dining hall to enjoy a World Book Day themed menu, and to solve a selection of literacy puzzles. Our librarian, Ms Hickey, made the day even more special by giving out free books to students, encouraging them to discover new stories and authors. Some of the cast members from our upcoming school production of Oliver! Jnr also gave sneak preview performances, showing off their amazing talent. The atmopshere in the dining hall at lunch was brilliant!
